Started by founder
Thomas C. Tsatsos in 1963, Tom had been working for another Manufacturer’s
Representative, and knew this was what he wanted to do. Representing
Robbins & Myers, then Hitachi in sub fractional motors, he grew the
business until he had to hire associate salespeople.
In 1971 Baldor
Electric was in an aggressive mode towards hiring Reps, and this became a
great opportunity for both parties. With a lot of hard work Baldor grew
nicely over the years, and the philosophy of strong inside sales was
recognized and developed at this time.
When current
President Mark S. Tsatsos joined the firm in 1977, the firm had 7 people
and Mark worked through the ranks up to territory manager. Along with two
other sales people, and a General Manager, House of Motors expanded into
other product lines that would compliment the efforts. We representing
Grant Gear from late 70’s, until Grove approached the company in 84’, and
this was the springboard to a multiple line agency that expanded to
several lines, and the whole 5 state area.
In 1986 we started a
value added service division to the company E E Controls; realizing
customers needed something more than components offered in catalogs, such
as custom duplex pump controllers with logic. This gave us much
experience in selling and applying all types of controls. EE Controls was
sold to Industrial Sensors and Controls in November 2001.
In 1991, Baldor
wanted an exclusive effort, and through negotiations, Tom sold the Baldor
franchise to Leslie J Anderson, and Mark split off with the other Rep
lines and the Control division; including three other people. Mark
purchased the company in 1995. With many changes in the industry and
selling of the control division, we have gone from 9 to 4 people since
1997. We are extremely proud of our reputation and Ethics statement.
Our vision sums it
up. “Our vision is to give the most professional Service and Support to
both our customer and principles, while keeping both profitable”.
